When we arrived and I saw the town of Logan, it reminded me of my home town of Marysville. The campus itself is beautiful, as it sits at the base of the mountains. I had a vision of what I wanted the campus to look like and the older style brick buildings are something that I really like. When we were able to walk around the campus, I felt very welcomed by everyone, not just softball players and coaches but everyone. I made a checklist of things that I was looking for in a college and I was able to check off everything that I had on my list before I left to go home. I took a couple days after we returned home and I called Coach Kalaba to accept the offer and attend Utah State. Coach "K" was very excited for me and welcomed me to the Utah State Family.. Congratulations are in order for Savannah Loomis, who has made a verbal commitment to Seattle University, in Seattle, Washington. The college was founded in 1891 and is a Jesuit, Catholic university. Savannah and her father, Gerald, visited the college several weeks ago.
"I really enjoyed myself while on my visit and I was able to see myself going to the college. Softball is important to me but so is my education and the university has a strong nursing program, which is what I want. The campus is modern and the classes are small. It is a very nice environment. The campus itself is about one half mile from downtown Seattle. Renovations have been made to the softball field and it looks great. I spoke with Coach Powers after the tournament by phone. I was actually pretty nervous on the phone, although I already had my mind made up to accept Coach Power's offer. I guess it was more anxiety than anything else. Coach Powers made me feel comfortable while we were talking and when I finally told him my decision to verbal, he said he was excited to have me join the program."

"I was really nervous leading up to the visit this weekend. I've had a chance to go on some other visits and I've had a great time, but I was definitely nervous knowing that UCLA was my dream school and that I actually had a legitimate chance to go. Walking around campus with my parents and future coaches really brought everything into focus for me. The campus is beautiful and very self-contained. There is very little that anyone would need, that you can't find on campus. I was able to see the new Pauly Pavilion where the student athletes were rehearsing for the opening of the new facility. Meeting the families of coaches Perez and Fernandez just confirmed my decision to attend UCLA and make it my home. It definitely felt like family. When I told Coach Perez of my decision, she leaped from her chair and gave me a big hug. I had a feeling of relief and overwhelming joy all at the same time" Bubba's early thoguhts of a major is biology, with aspirations to become a doctor.

Congratulations are in order for Brianna Warner, who has made a verbal commitment to the University of California, Davis.
Last summer, Brianna made to the trip to UC Davis, just outside Sacramento, to attend their softball camp. In 2006, Davis was ranked as the second most educated city (in terms of the percentage of residents with graduate degrees) in the US by CNN Money Magazine, after Arlington, VA.
Here is what Brianna has to say about her choice to commit to UC Davis:
"After attending the camp last summer, I saw what a flawless school it is and I decided I wanted to go there. Whether it is the beauty of the campus or the exceptional academic and athletic programs, I felt the school is a perfect fit for me. What attracts me to UC Davis is its small town atmosphere. Having grown up in a similar environment, I want to continue that experience while in college. I feel Davis can offer me that. After personally meeting Coach Yoder, I know she is the coach I want to spend my college life around. After meeting a former player and befriending current ones, I realize that our personalities match in a way that confirms the athletic program is a perfect fit. With my research into their academic options, I know UC Davis is where I want to study for my future career in the Forensic Science field. I can't wait to officially join the Aggie family. Go Ags!"
"I want to thank all my coaches who provided the stepping stones to achieve this rare goal in the softball world."

Ashley, along with her parens, Dan and Mae, were en route to Hemet, California, for the Surf City Halloween Showcase when they received a phone call from All American recruiting coordinator, Mario Moreno, that Cal Poly wanted to make a scholarship offer.
"The phone call completely caught me off guard. It was the farthest thing from my mind. As a matter of fact, I was halfwway asleep. It was hard to hear Coach Mario because we were going over the "Grapevine" and the phone reception was pretty bad. I was able to hear that they wanted to make an offer and after that, we decided the reception was so bad that we would just talk about things the next day. I was in tears in the back seat. I was so happy and stunned at the same time. Cal Poly has been my dream school and now I really was going to have a chance, a real chance to make my dream come true. I knew what my answer would be to the offer but I had to wait until the next day before I could make things official. After we finished our games on Saturday, I didn't want to wait any longer. I called Coach Mario and told him that I wanted to verbal but that I wanted to have all of the All American staff there with me when I made the call to Coach Condon. Around 4:00pm, all of the coaches, along with my parents, gathered in our room and I made the call. It was a short call to Coach Condon and it was hard to keep my composure. I spoke with Coach Tarr last night to tell her about my decision and she said that I gave her a great birthday present. "I didn't know exactly what to expect when I stepped on campus but I soon found out. I guess that if I had any expectations, they were that the campus would be huge. To me, it seemed to be just the right size. It wasn't overwhelming and I liked that. The softball stadium has a nice feeling to it with Lake Washington behind the outfiel dfence. It really is pretty. I spoke with Coach Tarr last night to tell her about my decision and she said that I gave her a great birthday present. I did not feel rushed to make a decision but I am surprised at how quickly things happened. Right now, I am thinking of psychology as my major but I know that could change. I do have some time to think about other careers. I'm excited." said Krystal.
